Even though my job took me all over the world for extended periods of time, I consider Northern Virginia and DC my home. I’ve lived and worked in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa, but to be honest nowhere compares to living in this area. My roots in the area go back to my undergraduate days at Georgetown University and graduate school at the DC campus of Johns Hopkins University.
After a long career at the World Bank, I am now pursuing my strong interest in real estate. I am gratified to be able to apply my negotiation and finance skills, and a deep understanding of market dynamics to get the best value for clients. With an economics background, I also have a keen appreciation of how technology is transforming the real estate industry. In deciding to go into real estate, I really studied market trends and the emerging options available for buyers and sellers. The more I learned the more I realized that offering full-service representation means being on the cutting edge of technological tools, having support from the best experts in the business, and relying on a superior reputation for client service. That’s why I decided to join McEnearney, the market leader in all these areas.
I am a member of the Mount Vernon Community Council’s transportation committee, which helps me keep on top of county projects and allows me to share my experience in economic and urban development. I am also a volunteer for Youth for Understanding international student exchange, as well as an alumni business coach for the Stanford University Graduate School of Business entrepreneur program in Africa. I speak several foreign languages including “Minnesotan” where I grew up….yah sure, you betcha.
I am especially familiar with the Old Town area and the U Street Corridor in the District, both places where my daughter (now pursuing her masters degree in architecture in Boston) has lived and worked. I live with my husband in the Wessynton community of mid-century homes near Mount Vernon. Closely related to my interest in real estate, I love design and I have worked on transforming several properties from humdrum to stunning. I enjoy helping people visualize creative options for their new homes. Let me do the same for you.
